Frequently Asked Questions

Our rates are very reasonable and depend on the type of training or support you need and whether you ar an individual or you are part of a company/department.

There may be other expenses incurred by us like, customised manuals ($10 + GST per person), parking fees, travelling fees or, in some cases, taxi/uber fee which may be cheaper than travelling and parking fees.

For all clients, the price is agreed upon before we start — no surprises.

We’re happy to quote for one-on-one help, group sessions, or even short consultations to solve a specific issue. But, because we advertise that we are more affordable than the rest, the training will not be more than $100 + GST per hour. Now, that is NOT per person, you are paying for the trainer so it is a simple rate per hour of training.

However, that rate is only avialable until November 2026

We have a 3 hour minimum for training sessions if we need to attend. A 1 hour minimum is required for Remote training. If your training is one on one training, we also recommend a 3 hour maximum.

Please note: The rate can be negotiated if you are an individual rather than a business.

Not at all. We run sessions for all skill levels — from absolute beginners to Excel whizzes who want to dive into advanced features like pivot tables or macros. If you can open a spreadsheet, We can help you improve from there.

For Advanced Formulas and Functions, it is recommended that you have a solid foundation of Excel so, normally, people would undertake the Intro to Formulas and Functions course first. Please refer to the course outlines and if you know the basics, feel free to request the Advanced.

For all other courses there are no prerequisites except that you need to know how to use a mouse, be able to open and save files etc - basic computer skills.

We teach primarily using the latest version of Microsoft Excel for Windows, but I’m also familiar with older versions and Excel for Mac. If you’re using Office 365, Excel 2016, or even something a little older, I can tailor the session accordingly.

Yes, absolutely. That is our niche. We do not have a training facility.

We regularly visit workplaces around Adelaide to deliver onsite training. All we need is a projector and screen or TV screen, a whiteboard if possible, and a group of willing learners. We also bring training materials and will customise the session to your team’s skill level, on the fly if needed.

Yes — one-on-one training is a big part of what I do. Whether it’s in-person or via Zoom, MS Teams or Google Chat we focus entirely on what you need, at your pace. It’s perfect if you’re stuck on a spreadsheet or want to learn faster without sitting through generic content.

Most courses are 3 hours long but there are exception. Please see HERE for more information regarding the length and content of our courses.

We also recommend that an individual only undertakes a maximum of 3 hours' training. A full day's training (6 hours) can be fatiguing and the after lunch session can be tiring.

Unfortunately, we are not a RTO (a national Registered Training Organisation) like T.A.F.E or a University or a college who offer certificate courses.

We offer short courses which can be tailored directly to your needs and therefore do not contain the extra extraneous learning like WHS and First Aid in the workplace, which certtificate courses are required to provide.

We only offer pure Excel.

That is something which we do well. We are often called upon to simply advise how to tweak an Excel spreadsheet or to actually assist in its creation.

Depending on how long that takes we may be able to assist you remotely. Please see HERE for more information about Remote Training. Minimum time for remote assistance is 1 hour.

Yes! We have a 3 hour Intro to Macros (VBA) short course. Please see HERE for more information regarding the length and content of the Macro short course.

Learning how to write macros actually takes far longer. Usually it takes 6 months at TAFE and then a few years experience to be confident that you can write a macro capable of doing what you wish.

That is why some people ask for us to write the macros for them. When we do, we future-proof them so that, once written, you will not need us again.

Please see HERE for more information about our programming service.
